Why does my bike pedals squeak down when I'm riding?

I just bought a KHS DH50 used, its descent. Each When I ride around my pedals / cranks, grind noise, how can I solve this problem. Also my controllers are messed up when I try shirts that are still at a lower speed, or the chain comes off. The guy I bought it off said i need to fix TLC shifters, was is that. Help please!

You need to lubricate around the axis of the pedal because even if they are "closed", they are not really. Squirt some oil in the oil seal around the pin and the springs if you have any.
