Best clip-less pedals for mountain biking?

Time - SPD - Crank Brothers - Other? Why? Do they have dirt cake? Do they clip and out easily?

It's really a matter of opnion and someone else will surely come and say that I am either wrong or agree with me and you will be closer to figuring out which one is better. Now, since I'm obviously going to answer that then I would say that my best overall pedal Crank Brothers .... Why? Four-sided entry. They make a pedal that compliments my road bike ... C and The Candy 2Ti. All their pedals are on all my bikes Mtn, Acid 2, Mallett and 4Ti and when I take a bike and a pair of shoes, I can not possibly go wrong with either mud (they're all the same clip and no worries for me) excretion is excellent with almost everyone of them and the input / output easier than the SPD, I think. I started with the year of SPD pedals back and it did not work very well with me for a long time, Shimano made excellent products, but I will stick to their handles and other objects as for now and let the CB pedals. The SPD has simply not clear as mud CB and admission to both sides was a hassle (I am picky) at times for me and in a short time I found CB and have been with them since. Do not use if you have more 4Ti £ 180 .... too heavy!
