MTB shoes?

I'm looking for a pair of mountain bike friendly. Specifications. I'm looking is as follows: 1) They are for a flat pedal, NOT automatic 2). They need to be somewhat water resistant, so that I can wash clean when I returned from a muddy walk. 3). I do not want them to be flashy colors, black is fine. 4). The main thing is the resistance water, I really want to be able to wash, dry, but a bit faster, so maybe something that vents. I thought leather to be resistant to water? Lets here your ideas. ~ ~ Thank you Thank you all for suggestions everyone. The main reason I thought water resistant is to watch the seasons when Steve Peat is washing his muddy shoes after this race in the United Kingdom.

Personally, I do not wear clip Pedals for downhill. I love the country by road and cross, but i down wear skate shoes. i currently wear all DC my fellow travelers do just the same thing, except one, it wearsclip ins. drunk we all use bmx or skating boots shoes. mine have all leather on the outside and equipment within normal shoe. go to a skate shop and look around what they have. who is your bet less easy. they make shoes mtb who are flat footed, but everything I've ever seen for sale and people were a bit too flashy for my tastes, but they have a bit more padding Foot and thick soles. I've never heard of someone or tearing them up in an accident because their shoes wasn't strong enough
