What is the difference between all automatic CrankBros / egg beater pedals?

I see all the same, but I'm sure there must be some difference. I always had the cheapest, the Smarty, but I see that there's acid, and many other modes for double or triple the price I paid. So really whats the difference? And why would you buy? They are all in the clip, whats the difference? (Other the weight)
