Would you help me find a quality audiophile input tray?

I try to find a quality level audiophile input tray that I did not remove the platter to change the turntable speed. I prefer either semi or fully operation automatic but I was told that these elements affect the overall sound quality and the "Best" audiophile turntables are entirely manual. It should also have a cue lever. I guess they will all have an anti-skid. Is that correct? I prefer matte black instead of spending more for a different color. Do they all come with sturdy arm or is there a read head with pleasure. I was told that building a strong arm is better for quality sound. A removable pickup may be easier for me to work with. Is it possible for under $ 500? And of course + taxes + S & H.

A Technics SL-1200 MkII would be absolutely ideal for your needs. It meets all your needs and is a brilliantly designed, the bridge of audiophile quality. You not find anything better for $ 500 or less. Couple it with a decent budget cartridge (Audio Technica AT440MLa is good) and you're laughing. Ignore the bleating of audiophile snobs who insist that you buy a belt driven plinthed MDF-hand Rega clone designed by Ukrainian peasants, the kind that you must remove the tray changing speed. These plates do not give good results, but not as good as the Technics. They are not nearly as solidly built and easy to use. I did once try something called a Pro-Ject Debut, a Czech made double Rega thing with push button gear change, and frankly I been disappointed by the quality. The engine was very noisy too. I traded against a Technics and listened happily ever since.
